DP1x time laps video

This is perhaps not the most interesting movie but at least I had slightly more fun painting.. :) First half recorded yesterday using JPEG mode in camera – Today I switched over to RAW and the difference is HUGE! I even decided to skip colors in the first half as it looked so bad. :) Fluorescent light can be tricky for any camera but using RAW it’s no longer a real issue.

Welcome to my blog! I'm Carl Rytterfalk, a swedish photographer who loves everything that is interesting in the world of photography. In 2002 I fell in love with the three layered Foveon sensor and has since then been an addicted user of Sigma cameras. Though I use Canon and Nikon as well. :)

Nice way to make painting fun, Carl.

And, you do a nice job. I was interested in some of the mid-points — and liked the shoe protection at the end….

    Best to both,

  2. Music must be Sigur Ros ?

  3. Jeremiah, it’s Sigur Ros! It says over at youtube, forgot to add a sign about it inside the video itself.

    Nice video!

Did you do it manually ? (To take the pictures)
Or did you use some kink of software to trigger the camera at the chosen interval ?

  5. Hi Dominick, the Sigma DP series has this built in.. you can select what tie you would like between shots – lowest being 30s and that’s what I used. I’d like to have something like 5s as an option for other type of images such as sunrise etc but for now this works. :)

    I have learn something today ! :)
I have find the option in my dp2 but it seems that the my original dp1 doesn’t have it…

Maybe I should explore the menus more seriously. Shame on me… hahahaha

  7. Dominick, did you find it in the original DP1’s menu? The one I used was the DP1x, and sadly I can’t find the option in my other DP1 and DP1s. Sorry about that! My mistake!

  8. Dominick says:

No my dp1 doesn’t have either… Maybe it’s a “new” feature of the dp1x inspired from the dp2. Anyway, I’ll try it with the dp2.

    Thanks again for the inspiration!

  9. Thad says:

can’t do this with my DP1s.

    BTW, Why no paint roller?

  10. Thad, Paint roller is way too fast, remember the shortest possible time between each shot on the Dp1x and Dp2 is 30s. With a paint roller that would be like three shots or something. :D
