Some sheep SD15 pictures..

OBS! These images are taken with a pre-firmware and I’m told that much has happened since I shot these – and that’s also why I took down those raw files as they don’t represent the “final” IQ. Sorry about the confusion.

Sheep with SD15 Another sheep picture

Late evening, SD15 + 50-500 OS – the last one is pretty much fully zoomed in (420mm) both shot at ISO200 – SPP 4.0 used for processing. Originals can be found on my SD15 flickr set.

Welcome to my blog! I'm Carl Rytterfalk, a swedish photographer who loves everything that is interesting in the world of photography. In 2002 I fell in love with the three layered Foveon sensor and has since then been an addicted user of Sigma cameras. Though I use Canon and Nikon as well. :)

So, are the samples up at Sigma’s site also from pre-release firmware? Ifso, I sure hope they update the sample set once production firmware is available.

Hi Carl, I’ve been playing around with the raws of the SD15 (spp4 and ligthroom) and this is what I got. I hope not too bad. Thanks

Pictures taken by the SD15 is great in sunlight. Carl I wonder how it perform in low light and available lighting.

I had to get rid of my sd14 last time as it had a green cast under florescent lighting, and it becomes really really bad… making the faces and skin appear to have jondis… unless i tune down the saturation to -43 to -48…

It is really good camera… in daylight… i wish they solve this problem in the sd15

    not sharp. disapointing !

The quality of the 50-500 seems to be ok … might speak for the lens or for the Foveon, or for both ; ) I do wonder why you’re not more into prime lenses which really deliver best IQ? I mean which such a enormous focal range (50-500) there must be IQ tradeoffs.

  7. adrian says:

For that lens, it’s very sharp to me except maybe for the 2nd one which could be using a wide aperture.

  8. That second one is at a full 500mm pretty much wide open. So yes, it’s not as sharp but still full of life. :)
