17-70 2.8-4 OS | Revisited!

17-70 OS
SD14, 17-70 OS, 1/4s at F4, ISO100, Hand held. Optical stabilizer turned on. Full size.

I now have the “REAL” 17-70 OS with fully functional OS and AF and boy is it a nice lens! I’m pretty sure I will use this one a lot! Have a look at this shot from tonight.. It’s one of many “tests” and pretty much shows both how nice the lens is and how great SPP 4.0 is. :) And yes, I asked Linn to sitt still for a moment. Oh, and don’t you love those new reds? Sweeet sweet stuff!

  1. Nice photo Carl, I just wonder how it compares with older 17-70 (non OS) esp near the border. Or how good the new 17-50 EX OS will be … need a new zoom for Sd15 ;-)

  2. I have no idea how it compares but another dpreview regular called Thunderlance lives nearby and he has the old version so we could perhaps arrange a test. :)

  3. Oh yes, Thunderlance , I know him :-), (Its beek long time since we had a chat :-) , my regards to him. If others interested too, and you both find time to do it, I would appreciate it a lot.

Have you heard anything about 17-50mm EX DC OS HSM.
