Very nice, Carl. But don’t go over to the Dark Side!! :) I wonder if Canon will release manual controls on all of their video DSLRs…
Hi Scott! :D I’m searching for a “video” camera. I’ve had several weddings with the Q if I can do some filming too. And my real wish is for Red Scarlet to come out so that I can do some real high quality slow mo, I really do enjoy that with the Casio EX F1 – but don’t want that extremely low resolution.
Well, if SD15 could do film as well at 480p – 720p at some raw based format then I’d be more than happy to use that! :D
but… that wavy feeling when you move the camera… yikes!
Hi Carl,
My choice for shooting video and in time of it take some photo`s is Sony Handycam HDR-XR520V. There are much of positive and negative opinion`s about colour and of course it`s not equipped with Foveon X3, but it`s good enough for not Foveon sensor. It has big storage and long battery duration there is possibility to take photos during the record of Full HD. Colors, quality, sharpness and so on is in High level … (It`s not camera RED.)
It`s not SLR so pictures can`t be in that level, but it`s not meant to be that way. It`s clearly visible that Nikon and Canon can`t make they SLR`s equipped with really good quality video recording function (that includes SUPER fast autofocus and reaction speed, of course 60 FPS) in nearest future.
SLR`s are devised to take photos so nothing more could be expected in nearest few years..
Bob, that wavy thingi really is yikes! But you can control your motions a bit right? :)
Ilmars, I’m considering small HD such as that Sony as well but the thing with the canon is the sensor size! Much nicer dof and therefor a more movie feel – it acually has the same size as 35mm reel film but I really have no wish for picture taking with it, but video only (canon or Sony).
The Scarlet can do 120fps and burst at 180 at very high resolution and at raw – that’s just something to like and I’m still waiting for it. :)
Awesome tune, and I’m not really into that genre! I enjoy listening to it!
