DP1. Handheld. F4 (wide open) 1/50s ISO200.

Had a photo shoot together with my friend Bengt today. I like being with him because it’s with him that I feel like I need to take nature shots. (He’s a nature photographer, or something) So I took some images, some photographs and this one. I played with it to see if she had anything to give and after being angry about her not being sharp enough due to wide open and perhaps cold shaky hands I reviewed it again a minute ago and I think I’m falling in love. It’s grown since I worked with it and now she is able to stand on her own. So please welcome my latest black and white lady.
DP1 using ISO1600 – 3200 monochrome white balance. Pushed.

SD14 10-20mm. Handheld.
DP1 handheld. This one came out fantastic. :D
The only SD14 image is the one with the wooden fence or whatever it’s called. With the house. :) Black and whites are ISO1600+ shots taken with the Dp1. Last one is DP1, vignette created by me always. Lens isn’t that bad. ;)

We’re talking about making a documentary of his story, we talked about it now for some time and he’s ready. I’m thinking about how to do it, what gear to use. I’d like to use film or red. Any suggestions? I’d like to go without extra light. (or maybe one portable light).. Any good suggestions? Even the Canon 5D Mark II might be good for this?!..
Oh, how much I’m longing for a film function for a SD camera. even at 480p or 720p it would kick some serious but – especially at black and white with it’s extreme micro contrast it has a very special film-like feeling that I yet have to see using anything digital. Including red.

Just went to visit Björn, a friend living on the edge of sociaty, life hasn’t been too good for him but we do have a great time together talking photography during an occasion fika. (Fika is Swedish for coffee type of brake). This room was very bad lit, and the shutter speed was outstandingly poor – but pushing is fun and DP1 did once more make it a moment to remember.
Marry Christmas to you all! And think about those who has less then you. :) They need a smile and if possible a hug.
Wanted to share a little something – I have a small friend living pretty far from me. His name is William and he’s not very big, a couple of years old. I’ve been thinking about what to give as Christmas gift and now I think I found something. What do you guys think about “fill in the rest” pictures like these? I made them last night (the ship this morning) and if I make them printable as PDF his father could easily print them and the little boy could try to recreate or just fill in colors etc as he pleases. :) hmm.. Maybe I’ll go into photoshop and use curve tool to make lines very very simple – that way it’s easier to paint.
And pictured are all taken with the DP1, pushed ISO1600+
After importing the photo of my drawing into photoshop I made simple straight lines of it and colored it.. I think it looks pretty cool. :D
So I had to have another session without my DP1. My 28mm and the 70mm made me proud and the quality was as expected. The full size is all available over at flickr.
Once more I used one light, you even see it bright and clear including ME in their eyes. Aperture differs quite a lot in these shots from f3.2 to f8. I did notice that the 28mm sharpens up quite a lot with aperture. Sweet spot around F8 as normal, but this one really becomes VERY sharp at f8. Most of these shots are done with the 28mm. It’s my favorite studio lens. (I wish I had the 20mm and the 24mm as well).
His music happens to be very good, listen at www.broshan.com (or at their myspace page)
