UPDATE: If you’re monitor is badly calibrated, you will see some ugly painted brush lines in-between the trees it’s me trying to push the black a little but it does look horrible if your screen is too bright. /UPDATE Picture is created from one single Sigma raw file – first made it BW and later adding a layer of colors from the same shot. Sky had a magenta tone so I colored it blue instead. 115s using aperture 22. :)

This one is the same as I published before with the only difference that I developed the same shot three times and created a false hdr shot. I did play some in photoshop with shadows and such too. No colors this time.

Getting boring looking at all this water? Well, it’s just beside where I spend most of my days so please bare with me. :) A dark day and small aperture can turn boring into fun. Maybe some you you could try some and show me? :D If it’s on flickr then I could put them into this article. Could be fun.

I could hardly see anything thru the viewfinder, I could see the moon. the rest I had to guess. 2min exposure at more or less wide open at ISO400. I love the SD14 for long exposure black and whites. See full size on flickr.

I’ve passed this tree many times daytime but never took a shot at it. It’s placed by the road (the road you see inside is bicycle road) and now and then a car was passing, giving light enough to fill the tree with life. It was very very dark. 82s at ISO400. See full size on flickr.

ISO50 at almost 2 minutes. take a look at the full exposure to enjoy the great detail. It was windy and I’m amazed how still the grass was.. :) Used SPP for developing and Lightroom 2 for post. (darkening the sky and lifting the shadow some. See full size on flickr.

I had to shoot my neighbors house, the moon was beautiful from behind and street lights brought life to the front. See full size on flickr.

Was fooling around some with this tree and with this shot I was aiming for 2min exposure but didn’t make it. :) Developed using Raw Developer 1.8 (all others using SPP) 122s at ISO400. See full size on flickr.

A quick HDR from a rainy late night. Look closer at the full size version and you’ll find all kinds of nice raindrops. :D I used my 10-20 + f8 and f5.6. The last picture had a 80s long exposure + shorter ones. Take a look at the tree and see how the wind is playing. Looks cool in a long exposure like this.

Hi guys. Every Wednesday evening I’m teaching photography and I will post some of the images used so that they (my students) can go back and find info and you might pick up a thing or two, too. :)

Aperture: f2.8
Shutter speed: 1/15s
(70mm Macro, ISO50)

Aperture: f22
Shutter speed: 3,2s
Here’s pictures showing what we talked about in the first lesson. About the exposure and what difference different aperture does to the image. When executing these images all you need is a camera and a tripod. The camera can a be a point and shoot but you should in that case be able to change aperture. Switch to “A” mode, in this mode you can change aperture and camera will automatically change shutter speed for you.

I took these shots yesterday for an ad on “blocket” a swedish online market place. I have this kitchen that I have to trow away but it hurts some to just trash it so we are giving it to anyone who takes it away for us. :D not sure anyone wants it but maybe there is someone out there that has a little summerhouse that needs a fully working kitchen. And these colors are details are sooo cool I think. :)

According to Jim Jennard at the RED Team, Red is currently working on something that according to him could be the DSLR killer, he says: “We believe, and are developing for late 2009, a replacement for DSLRs. Currently, we call it a DSMC (Digital Still & Motion Camera).”
Reading the red forums and find quotes such as these from the Red Team:
“I will also say that or DSMC is the most beautiful thing we have done. Maybe the “most desirable object in the world”. :-) ” and “We believe it marks the end of DSLRs. That’s all we can say right now.” “If we can’t change the future… we want no part of it!” he also said he would quit his job if people we’re not amazed by it.. Will add the exact quote when I find it. :)
Now, what this is we can only speculate, and I for one welcome this initiative. I do have a hard time seeing a motion camera dealing with IQ the way a real SLR would but looking at movies made with the current RED ONE and well, if they’re working on a killer – why not! Oh, btw, this movie made with a RED system is very cool!
