I went out yesterday together with Linn and the amazing Sigma 4.5mm circular fisheye. We had a great time and my goal was to do some QTVR - stupid me forgot a small screw for the 303SPH - and had to play with the lens in other ways possible.
Like this: (Click for bigger)
All shots taken wide open at f2.8 with a shutter speed of around 2s. I used the 500DG Super turned back. I did drive at the same time (look at the light outside) - kind of stupid but I just couldn’t wait. (tricky stuff) The last shot was shot by Linn.
All shots developed with Raw Developer. Want to know more about this lens? Click here.

That works. Looks like a fun lens. Hope Sigma has a sample at their booth at PMA. :)
Hola Karl,
I like it - and the colors really compose these shots.
Much more useful than had imagined, and did you try blocking out rectangular crops, which also can usefully include black outside the lens’s circle? I was thinking towards publication which may not want to emphasize or see the circle, and this includes-black result seems very good.
did I ever put you on to the work of James Mason, journalistic photographer who often uses mild fisheye as if a normal wide-angle?

Looks like you and Linn out for the clubs ;)
Ciao de Bssel,
Clive
Smile, smile, smile. A great perspective, makes Linn look great, fantastic green stockings and how did Linn get back her long hair? I thought they are red now?
Hola Carl,
Saludos
Spalbird, hehe.. her green stockings are perfect for these blue and red colors. :D I like it very much too!
The red hair was only fake. :D Just for fun. We wanted to scare her relatives a little. And you guys as well. Now you know. ;)
Linn looks great even with red hair, would have been a great April joke, didn’t expect sth like this for Christmas, so you two succeeded to fool me :)
Hello there and thanks for the review.
I was looking for photos of this lens for ages. And I know one thing. When it comes to Spain I am buying it!
Are there any other alternatives to it though? (for half-sensors, i have a 350D)?
Also, do you know where to go so I can see where it is released and when?
Thanks and congrats on the photos ;)
Ciao!
Hi csm2mk! (wow, what a name!) :D
This is the only lens on the market that I know of that gives you and me (1.6 / 1.7 crop factor) a full 180 degree all around view. It’s very cool and I suggest you try it!
I think it’s released already. So go to some big store that has Sigma (doesn’t every store has it nowadays?)
Hola Karl,
