About Carl Rytterfalk

Welcome to my blog! I'm Carl Rytterfalk, a swedish photographer who loves everything that is interesting in the world of photography. In 2002 I fell in love with the three layered Foveon sensor and has since then been an addicted user of Sigma cameras. Though I use Canon and Nikon as well. :)

Super! I especially like the first shot :)

  2. Thanks! :D I’m a fan of black and whites, it’s so much fun playing around to find “that”. But colors with polarizer really shine. :D Have you tried?

Nooooo :( I even didn’t get the idea (and now you know how bad photographer I am). I still have to wait until I think I can afford a polarizer. With too many options I feel I forget taking pictures… About B&W photography. More than 20 years ago I did in darkroom, no sophisticated stuff. I also tried making color pictures from slides. This was very time consuming and difficult for me and gave me a sore throat. So I tried it only once. With every colored picture I feel I gain a lot more than developping B&W. Therefore I like the color versions. In the beginning color pictures were very saturated while they are not with the SD10. One reason more to like Color photography. Maybe color and B&W photography is complementary to some extend. With B&W I like strong contrasts. Some other B&W, often landscapes are too flat in my eyes… And for me the color version here is much superior. I have seen very good B&Whites from you, though. Those pictures from China really impressed me, and one portrait of Linn I still remember…

Keep on going your stunning stuff…

Wow, never seen such a beautiful picture of a gas station.
I can’t even decide which version I like more.
The colored one just shines and the sky is really nice.
But in the BW contrast is better (as usual with BW), the sky and the station and especially the big sign stand out even more.

Great work with such a trivial subject.

  7. Hi! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and tell you I genuinely enjoy reading through your blog posts.
Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that
deal with the same topics? Thanks a ton!
