Yesterday I was out with my old friend Daniel. He just bought a new car and wanted me to shoot it before he did some mistakes with it. So here it is, while it’s nice. :) Click image to bring a bigger version. Much bigger.
All images captured with my Sigma SD14 and yes, I used a orange gradient filter to enhance the beautiful sunset. Lot’s of these are taken with the Sigma. Continue reading ‘[img] Daniel and his car - SD14 x 10′

in apple.

Oh, and the mic looks cool on image but we forgot to turn it on. We’re so so professional. HAHA
I’ve spent some hours with the SD14 before it came to market and I wanted to share some of my photos from 2006. See them all!

Did I clean my site from spam today? Yes sir I did! There was SOOOOO much! Maybe a total of 20-30 000 messanges in all my articles, and I had to uncheck everything that was man made BY HAND! (or mouse). It took about two hours of clicking! grrr. Now I have put on some more security.. mmm
Now I’m preparing some images that I will publish soon. Hang in there!
Long exposures is something I haven’t done much so here comes some of my first. Maybe it’s the SD14 that begs me to start.. ;) This particular shot was tough, it was so dark that I couldn’t really see anything thru the viewfinder. I tried to focus on some straw, I think I got close. :) Click to see full size image.
I used a little bit of level correction in photoshop, nothing more. The Raw is truly beautiful. Oh, the full image isn’t cropped, this smaller one is. You wanna read the thread about these images over at Dpreview? Click!

A little earlier the same evening, this time developed with Lightroom 1.0. Observe that Lightroom don’t have native support for SD14 Raw files yet so I don’t give you the full, only a little bit more. :) Click to view.
[EDIT] Street light IS YELLOW! It’s super duper yellow, even daytime you see the plastic yellow cover. :)

It’s hard to know how to select correct temperature. Anyone have good ideas?! I don’t want it to look like daylight, Which I easily could.
Processed with Sigma Photo Pro 2.2. No photoshop retouching involved. Converted from AppleRGB to sRGB. I used the Sigma 30mm 1.4, and it’s a very sharp lens, in the center. :) I auto focused on her eyes. Read more at Dpreview Sigma forum thread.
[EDIT] Btw, She has green eyes, can you see that? :D Open up in Photoshop and ZOOOOOM! It’s worth it!

I’m an old timer when it comes to SD cameras. My first was the SD9 back in 2002 and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s not always been an easy ride, as my fellow Sigma-friends can assure but when focus and light has been perf you have an outstanding image that somehow speaks to the heart in a different way then a “bayern” image do. More analog if you like. It’s a little like the apple / pc thing, we Sigma people tend to really love our tool and the Sigma company. It’s a life style.
Now, I had the opportunity to work with the SD14. The first edition I had was before Photokina 2006, but after I used it for a week or two I had a big problem to go back to my older SD cameras. My web page has slowly died too, reason?. The SD14 is so much more. Handling, speed, AF, low-light performance, batteries etc etc. Even the vertical grip that will come out is extremely nice - The overall build quality is now so much more pro and balanced.
If you wanna compare it to the big guys, this Sigma is more like a Nikon.
Now, these images that I wanna show to you are developed using a modified old Sigma Photo Pro software. The SPP 2.2 (Mac version). The SPP 3.0 would maybe produce even better result. If you think they look a bit on the warm side that’s done by me, I want wedding shots warm and cozy.

And yes, My favorite lens is still the 30mm EX 1.4. Click to see wedding shots.
