Our trip went very well, despite the fact that we had mountains of overweight both luggage and hand luggage). We’re incredibly happy, and I’ll try to fix hard disk space as soon as possible so I can empty my CF’s somewhere (from China) so that I can take some new photos. It’s kind of “seeing home with new eyes” kind of feeling, and I might be able to catch something that I’ve forgotten to look at. And having Linn in this environment just makes my day. Thanks all for kind words etc.Now you know where to find me. Nike.

Now I’m in the beautiful Dali, spending time with friends and nature. No phone, no internet and lots of fresh air.. :) I must say I will really miss all this when I arrive in Sweden. Sure ther will be lots of things to enjoy, especially family and friends, but food my friends.. Well. it’s just another story.. Ohh.. I will DRIVE again! That I’ve missed sooo so much! So, a bit of silence from me to you for a few days to come.
I have a friend that has a daughter that is now 18 and will graduate today saturday. The father wanted to make a great little book about her life in china (they’re not from here but lived here for about 10 years). I had much to do so I couldn’t help him. (pearl book and other book project) so time went by and he almost gave up the chance of being able to pul this of. I taught him how to use Apertures book tool, which gave him a small light but the PDF export functionality is sooo poor that even if you made your book the book couldn’t be printed as he/we wanted (Hard cover, glue binded). So yesterday morning I had finished all my ongoing projects and I started to make his book. From 13:20 in the afternoon to printable PDF at printhouse at 02:00 at night, a 24h service.Today we have it in our hands, printed and binded with hard cover and everything. A 70 pages 220×180mm big book. That’s a personal record. As soon as I get permission I will publish some of the pages. As it looks fantastic! ;)Over and out from a rainy and cold Kunming. brrrPS. For you techno geeks out there. Book was made using InDesign CS2, exported as “high quality print PDF” with cutmarks turned on and a 3mm bleed. It was printed on semi-glossed 120g paper double sided on a Xerox-monster color laser printer. Huge thing. Cover was printed on matt paper by a HP 5500 plotter and later laminated and put onto a hardcover thingi. They use big cutters and they do the thing bookmakers do, but in slowmotion. And results is not bad at all. It looks and feels like the real thing. I’d prefere a ink-print inside but laser is ok.
I haven’t been able to take many photos because of “goal sweden”. But hard work has paid off and I can now probably relax a bit and enjoy the last weeks of China. We will soon go to Dali and have a last reunion with Linns family. Maybe a week or so, I’ll bring the camera. ;)And, so the 29th of May we leave for Bangkok 15:20. At Bangkok we wait until time is about 01:20 and our next aircraft leaves the earth for Copenhagen. And at 07:25 we will enter Danish soil of where a buss is waiting for us alike. The buss will take us all the way directly to Älvängen (small town / village close to Göteborg) of which is my old’n'cozy home. So, there you have it. Next goal will be to be able to join some of you fine folks at Photokina 2006. Yeah!PS. We got a magic price for our airtickets. God is good! :D
Ordering tickets today! Probably going the 29th of May. JOY!
