Dead dogA friend of mine reminded me about a very — event that occurred about a year ago.

The 25th of March in 2005 I posted some pictures from a trip to Yuan Yang, a beautiful county about eight hours south from where I now live – if you which you can read that thread on dpreview. Among images of people and nature I also had two images showing dead dogs. On the right you see one of them.

See gallery.

This somehow made some people very angry, and resulted in me being banned from the forums of www.dpreview.com. Here is the “free carl” thread initiated by my good friend Laurence Matson after I mailed him about the strange situation. At the time I had no clue about why I was banned. I thought it was a mistake. Or this one my Gary Mercer.

After some digging I also find my first “free” post. read now.

So, thanks again everyone for the support I got at the time. These two pictures of dead dogs are now available as postcards and I’ll try to bring some to Photokina 2006.

About Carl Rytterfalk

Welcome to my blog! I'm Carl Rytterfalk, a swedish photographer who loves everything that is interesting in the world of photography. In 2002 I fell in love with the three layered Foveon sensor and has since then been an addicted user of Sigma cameras. Though I use Canon and Nikon as well. :)

    Wow Carl,
Thank goodness you have some folks who were willing to stand up for you…I look at the photos telling the story of another culture…it’s diversity…isn’t that what the human race is all about? The photos look like they could be part of a National Geographic article they are so well shoot (like so many of your other photos)…All in all I’m happy the Sigma forum still has you around!!!

    Cheers,
    The Chebb

  2. Thanks Chebb

I’m very exited about being around and the future of our tools. We have a very bright future ahead, stay on stay tuned! And the only thing we can do before something new apears is to use what we have, and it’s even after so many years such a great tool!

    :)
