Here is a new flickr folder with things I design. Will update as often as possible. Remember that I can be used! China is a great place to print, especially if you have a person here who knows how and can make everything possible. ;) Jaij.\

NEW STUDIO!

\

Oh happy day! \
\
Something very interesting happened today. Linn and me where going to a near by photo studio to take passport photos. (Too much work to do that myself.. .. Yes..) So we went in, and I saw that they had a really nice studio with two soft boxes and one backlight, many different backgrounds, adjustable flashes with a wireless flash shoe that worked directly with my SD10.\
\
There where three photographers owning the store and they all had been to my exhibition and they where all very happy to show me everything they had, and I was welcome to use it as much as I wanted. This is like a little dream still. Really nice guys! About three hour later (today) I went there again with my model (Linn of course) and I tried all kind of light setups and I also gave them my new poster and they put it up in the store directly. They didn’t show a second thought about me being a competitor. Strange but very nice!\
\
Here are some of the pictures I took. All in full-size, so enjoy!\

Sigma SD detail.

\
I’m not sure how to describe the extreme detail-richness that the foveon sensor gives, but here are two day to day examples. The eye picture is not only very detailed but also exposure compensated in the RAW converted + 2 step. Thanks to wide dynamic range the photograph is still use full and everything is there! \

A new group!

\
Of Scandinavian youngsters just arrived to Kunming. They’re going to spend a year at TC/G Nordica and helping the stage/gallery/restaurant to serve the Chinese population with something different from the west. It’s a nice group of ten people and two elders. Great! \
\
And the best of all, I’m not so alone any longer. :D\

Selected Full size images.. | UPDATED

I now created a flikr folder where fullsize images can be downloaded. Just remember they are copyrighted. If you wish to use in any way please email me: carl@rytterfalk.com.\

Trip to a small village not very far from Kunming. We went with cars up deep into the mountains and ate goat BBQ. It was very nice. On the way back I just had to take a few snapshots from the driving seat, the sunset was beautiful. I only wish I had my tripod. The small ones can be seen in better quality on my flickr account. \

Todays truth..

\
After almost two years in China I can with confidens say that there are two kinds of Chinese. The one that says \’d2-Hello!\’d3 before you pass them and the others. Nowadays I answer one kind only.\

Photo session Linn and Xu Yun

\
IMG17321IMG17367\
\
Xu Yun is a local artist that I’ve helped a couple of times with photos with her hand, egg and face mixed. This time she’s moving to Beijing and needed some new pictures to play with. I did a quick photoshop image to show you what we did today. There is about 30 images that can be put together in a similar manner. The SD10 is perfect for this kind of job, with the extreme sharpness you can resize the image to huge size and see details from the eggs shell that you didn’t know existed. It’s a new part of her work that makes it more interesting to have exhibition. \
\
The girl to the right is Linn. Maybe I’ll post some more photos soon. There is some extra to see at flickr if you want.\

Now it’s possible to get a higher resolution PNG file by clicking on the image and go to “all sizes”. Still not full res but at least something more detailed. Remember I live in China and connection to the west is terrible. I get 3-6kb/s except for bit-torrents.\

Heart! Help wanted.

\
Heart shape history question!\
\
The heart shape is well known, the heart itself doesn’t have this shape though and trying to search about it gives nothing informative. A leaf can sometimes be heart shaped and in Swedish the word for leaf is “l\’9av” witch is pronounced the same way as “Love” some maybe that’s why? :) \
\
Anyways. If you have a better, more worldwide explanation, please tell me!\
PS. I did try Wikipedia and google.\

I WANT THIS!!!

My new day light studio!

\
IMG17078 IMG17025IMG17084\
Today I decided to setup my long awaited daytime studio in one of TC/G Nordicas facilities. I used a big roll of oil canvas and nailed it to the wall and then rolled it to me on the floor.. The day light comes from two normal sized windows to the right. I think I can do a lot of nice photography here. Need models. :) If you live in Kunming and read this, contact me!\
